He is a medium, silver gray with perfect conformation. His fiber has a very nice handle and is significantly finer than his dam's fiber!
The first question that may come to mind is why alpaca fiber is called “fleece” and not alpaca “wool”. The reason is the huge differences between what we traditionally call wool and alpaca fleece.
The alpaca is one of two domesticated American Camelids; the other is the llama. Their wild cousins are the guanaco and the vicuña. Though they do belong to the camel family, the American camelids do not have the hump on their backs...
The alpaca is a rare, gentle, beautiful animal. With a long neck, it reaches approximately five feet tall and weights between 105-170 lbs.
Our herd is genetically and phenotypically superior due to our carefully chosen breeding stock and very strict breeding criteria.
Our proven males are available for outside breeding. We offer breeding on the farm and occasionally accept "drive-by" breeding.
